Google: History & Logo Change

Google’s Catull font logo has gone through the biggest of its modification since 1999- a sans-serif logo written in Product Sans typeface that was designed by Google designers – and has replaced it’s single blue colored lowercase ‘g’ with a four-colored uppercase ‘G’ to represent the logo in smaller contexts. There is an addition: the four dynamic dots made out of the same four colors in the logo to indicate transitional moments. The reason for these changes as explained by Google is to fit in the modern context of computing across devices including mobile, watch, etc. whereas the previous logo was designed to represent the brand mostly on desktop personal computers. Google for the most obvious reasons is one of the most dynamic companies that have never failed to evolve and keep up ...

Tycho Brahe: A Sage Who Called Himself A Fool

The human mind is the most powerful weapon in the whole of the universe and the beings that have wielded it to the maximum potential to bring great scientific results and advancements have been often crazy or maddening. Any scientist or an inventing mind would have an anomaly in their behaviour, making them more adorable. But these unusual eccentricities are painful and they have stood through their sufferings to become one of the greatest minds in human history. This article will give the name of such a scientist who had lived a weird life yet made some brilliant contributions to the field of astronomy. Hardly has he been remembered as one of the greatest astronomers, but his findings became the pillars of the modern astronomy. He was one of the earliest to deny the Aristotelian concept o...

How Safe Is Nuclear Energy?

The world is in need of energy at any cost. Our momentous growth as a civilization deeply ingrained in technology demands more energy no matter how dangerous the mode of production is. Thus, Japan, the land of earthquakes restarted one of the nuclear reactors that were shut down after the Fukushima accident, amidst public protest. Among the dozens of protestors was a former Prime Minister. After a two-year ban, the reactors are being revived to normal function following the implementation of upgraded safety requirements. Japan being located on the Ring of Fire, where earthquakes and volcanic disasters frequently occur, nuclear power plants can be extremely dangerous, as meltdowns are easily triggered by such natural disasters. Fukushima is just the recent past. If you go back in time, the ...

Nikola Tesla: The Powerhouse Genius

To many today, Thomas Alva Edison is the forerunner in pioneering electricity that has illuminated the whole world making it brighter and radiant than ever. But a very few know the legacy of Nikola Tesla and his contributions that have stood strong through times. Tesla even explained how to design a smartphone communication during 1901, that is almost 72 years before Martin Cooper of Motorola did it practically from his laboratory in 1973. There are many inventions that can be credited to the Serbian electrical engineer Tesla, including X-rays, radio, robotics, remote control, Laser, wireless communication, etc. Does that sound like covering everything? Yes, he had almost touched every horizon for a newer beginning. But he didn’t lead the life of a celebrated inventor but remained a modest...

The God Particle Inside The LHC

The most sought-after question throughout the human history is about the creation of the universe. How did everything around us come into being and where did humans originate from? The question became a challenge to the human imagination and fact-finding intelligentsia, that the answer was not quite easily findable. There have been scientists and philosophers who had put their efforts and thoughts to come out with a definitive answer but couldn’t conclude a result in their lifetimes. Their efforts have well taken the search for the source code way forward than where it all began. One way of understanding the origin is by knowing what is currently the state of the universe or is its nature. The Large Hadron Collider is one of the means to understand the answer about the nature of the univer...

The Eternal Language Of A Beautiful Mind

Mathematics is not just a tool for analysis but a language of divine nature that was skillfully wielded by the acumen of ‘A beautiful mind’ to herald this world, the sanctity of togetherness and unity. Equations are what mathematicians combat with, to prove their theories and corroborate with evidence to make them facts. John Forbes Nash Jr. can be no exception. Embattling a schizophrenic encounter, he managed to come up with ground-breaking ideas in game theory to make our economic and other interdependent ideas move well ahead. His equations spoke the language of eternal truth, despite the controversies enshrouding his personal qualities. [Body1AdHere] Apart from his public life, a few argue that he is no cherub and a loving husband as portrayed by the motion picture adaptation of his bi...

What Makes People Creative?

Our journey as a species of this planet has come a long way from flint stones to the high-end robots in the finest computer laboratories. Human mind or brain has been programmed to pursue its quest for novel ideas and innovation continuously, by the prime force to keep time rolling forward. Otherwise, who else would love to continue existing if everything around us remains unchanging? Change is the only constant that keeps us on the move. And hence the fuel power for these changes, you call it innovation or creativity or anything else you want to, has become a major concern for the researchers to investigate and understand more about this complex cerebral process, so that too much of creativity can take us forward for ever. Scientific studies And thus, there have been many studies and conc...

3 Amazing Discoveries Through Dreams

Dreams can be a lot productive. That doesn’t mean you can sleep the whole day, because, productivity is real. It doesn’t happen in real-life dreams. There are a lot of productive discoveries that have resulted from dreams and we will see only three contributions of those passionate dreamers- indeed, they did dream big. Before discussing the discoveries, let us know something about dreams. What is a dream? Does our brain work while we dream? If it does, why couldn’t we control what we dream and why would we have nightmares if we have the remote to control the intensity of its horror. These questions make dreams still one of the mysterious concepts that are yet to be understood better in psychology, even though there are many theories explaining other chemistries related wi...

3 things in the deep blue sea

We have explored much about what lies above us but not to a very much extent about what lies beneath us, especially in the ocean floor. At times, it is puzzling as we look out for the origin of the universe and every related science and correspond it with the space and the inexplicable black holes, but what serves as the substratum of our lives is quite forgotten much than what it deserves. This is quite a plausible argument when we don’t have a concrete theory about the origin of our universe. Why the extra terrestrial is connected with those astronomical sciences and creation and why not the terrestrial? This could be a possible reason that it holds troves of mysteries and exciting information with it. Seventy-one percent of our planet’s surface is covered by water, which forms 97 percen...
